Paula G. Pressman, JD
GENERAL COUNSEL

Paula G. Pressman is an accomplished business attorney. She draws upon her years of business experience arranging and closing business transactions to provide Presscott Associates with practical legal guidance.

Currently, Ms. Pressman is involved in the practice areas of managed care contract negotiation; strategic affiliations, acquisitions and practice valuations; and physician group practice services. Often, she interprets the affects of statutory provisions on specific client transactions. Ms. Pressman has been involved in a variety of contract, advisory and administrative activities for Presscott Associates since forming the firm in 1989.

Prior to joining Presscott Associates, she was the partner in charge of the Commercial Law and Finance group at Sorokin, Gross and Hyde, PC, the oldest law firm in Hartford, Connecticut. There she was responsible for managing and closing complex secured and unsecured financial transactions, including structured financing of mergers and acquisitions, asset based lending for healthcare receivables and secured lending to skilled nursing facilities. In addition, she practiced in the areas of general corporate law and computer law. Ms. Pressman was involved in mergers and acquisitions, general contract drafting and technology licensing, acquisitions, and transfers. Ms. Pressman’s earlier legal experience was as a Corporate Attorney at Consolidated Rail Corporation. She was responsible for negotiating and drafting loan documents, finance leases, software development and licensing agreements, hardware systems acquisitions and international technology transfer agreements; developing standard contract forms for various Conrail departments; and reviewing and revising general corporate documents.

Ms. Pressman received her Juris Doctor from the Temple University School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Political Science and History from Brooklyn College of the City University Of New York. Ms. Pressman is a member of the American Bar Association and its Health Law Section. She is an active member of the ABA interest groups on Managed Care and Insurance, and Transactional Business Healthcare. She has served as the chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Computer Law Section of both the Connecticut and Hartford County Bar Associations and has presented papers on various aspects of software and hardware acquisitions, and commercial finance law. She is the past President of Women in Commercial Finance.
